Masa Revolution is a news documentary about how inexpensive Mexican street food inspired a pop-culture gourmet food phenomenon.

The film captures the two faces of L.A.’s food truck culture: Hispanic immigrants and corporate hipsters. The industry is split along cultural, social and economic lines. It’s also run by a singular set of laws. L.A. City and County politicians are debating ordinances and implementing new laws to gain more control over mobile food vendors. The film follows the changing political landscape.

The 60-minute film includes citizen journalism and the voice of restaurant operators fighting to protect their investments. Masa Revolution will be released in summer of 2011.
