victor*e is a rapper who produces conscious lyrics rooted in Ancient Aztec philosophy. Masa Revolution will showcase victor*e’s talents with original spoken word lyrics and performances about the history and struggle of the Mexican people in the film.
Before joining Masa Revolution, victor*e spent 11 years recording, touring and performing with the group, El Vuh. In all, victor*e recorded 5 CD projects with El Vuh, including the single, “Native Sisters.” The group stood for one mind, one heart, one culture: Hip Hop and traveled extensively to perform in Canada, Mexico, and across the United States.
El Vuh teamed up with Mexico City’s legendary musician, Roco from Maldita Vecindad to record “Ciudad Celestial,” and performed with the Wu-Tang Clan. But El Vuh’s signature Hip Hop performance was with East Coast legend KRS-One at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood.
victor*e considers himself a social activist. When not using music to raise awareness about political, spiritual, and cultural issues, victor*e enjoys dancing. He’s been participating in ceremonies that revolve around traditional Aztec customs since 2001. He’s currently a member of the Coaxochitl Traditional Aztec Dance Group.
